Project Highlights

Harborlight proposes to transform 5 Granite Street, the site of a former greenhouse operation, into 23 units of affordable multi-generational housing. Granite Street Crossing will redevelop the vacant site into vibrant new housing, within walking distance to the town’s commuter rail stop as well as downtown shops, parks, and amenities.

Working closely with the neighbors of 5 Granite Street, Harborlight was able to ensure that they were engaged in the project design and could voice concerns and suggestions. This collaborative effort resulted in not only necessary permitting approvals, but with the full support of project abutters – even attending public meetings in support of the project.

The project has been thoughtfully designed to fit within the existing residential neighborhood. Granite Street Crossing will be transit-oriented, service enriched, multi-generational housing. We hope to create a model of multi-site supportive housing, building on the existing base of units at Pigeon Cove Ledges and Rockport High School Apartments to bring services to all three buildings.

  • 17 Supportive senior units in one building
  • 6 Family townhouses
  • Resident services available to all residents
  • Will add to the tax base of the Rockport community
