Beverly, Mass. ”Harborlight Community Partners will host an open house on Friday, July 13, 2-5 p.m., at 23 Chase St., Beverly.
Project supporters, neighbors and prospective buyers alike are all welcome to come and tour this recent collaborative renovation project by North Shore Habitat for Humanity, the city of Beverly, Beverly Cooperative Bank, the North Shore Home Consortium and Harborlight Community Partners.
The three bedroom single family home is a designated affordable property which was established in 2005 by the Beverly Affordable Housing Coalition. The property, which had been purchased by a first time buyer, was abandoned over a year ago, and was greatly in need of rehabilitation.
The long list of renovation work completed over several weeks by Habitat for Humanity volunteers includes installation of a new energy efficient gas heating system, hot water tank and baseboards. With new flooring, drywall, ceilings and fresh paint throughout, the property has transformed from being abandoned and neglected to an affordable, family home opportunity.
23 Chase St. is being offered at $183,500. Potential buyers must be income eligible and participate in a lottery process managed by Harborlight Community Partners. The application period deadline for this housing opportunity is Friday, Aug. 24, and the lottery is scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 12.
Potential buyers should be aware that there is an Affordable Housing Restriction Deed Rider that is transferable to the new owner that will expire in 2019. More details and a full application package is available online at harborlightcp.org or by calling Linda Pierce at 978-922-1305, ext. 202.
