Housing Highlights

The building that once served as the Town of Hamilton’s fire station, now named Firehouse Place, offers four units: a handicapped-accessible one-bedroom apartment for a disabled elderly person on the first, and three additional studio apartments on the second floor. Applicants for first floor 1 bedroom unit must have documented income below 30% of area median income and must also be 62 years of age or older with a disability.

Applicants for 2nd floor studio units must have documented income below 30% (1 unit) or 50% (2 units) of area median income:

Firehouse Place is Hamilton’s first Community Preservation Fund supported affordable housing project. Located on the first floor of Firehouse Place is the Acord Food Pantry; Firehouse Place provides space for this community mainstay and is an example of using local Community Preservation funds to leverage regional and statewide resources for contextually appropriate affordable housing.
