Boston Street Crossing – Individual Supportive Housing in Salem, MA
Boston Street Crossing is comprised of 26 Units of Individual Supportive Housing in Salem, located at 43 & 179 Boston Street. Boston Street Crossing serves as permanent supportive housing. HCP contracts with Lifebridge Northshore to provide case management and supportive services to all tenants, and tenants will be welcome to take advantage of the many programming opportunities provided such as classes, meals, and health care clinics. Both 43 and 179 Boston Street offer studio apartments with private baths and kitchenettes. Laundry and common spaces will be available in the buildings. Boston Street Crossing units are close to public transportation and amenities. No pets or smoking.
Boston Street Crossing in Salem directly addresses a need for supportive housing for formerly homeless individuals as identified by the Mayor’s Regional Homelessness Task Force.
Firehouse Place – Individual Housing in Hamilton, MA
The building that once served as the Town of Hamilton’s fire station, now named Firehouse Place, offers four units: a handicapped-accessible one-bedroom apartment for a disabled elderly person on the first, and three additional studio apartments on the second floor. Applicants for first floor 1 bedroom unit must have documented income below 30% of area median income and must also be 62 years of age or older with a disability.
Applicants for 2nd floor studio units must have documented income below 30% (1 unit) or 50% (2 units) of area median income:
Firehouse Place is Hamilton’s first Community Preservation Fund supported affordable housing project. Located on the first floor of Firehouse Place is the Acord Food Pantry; Firehouse Place provides space for this community mainstay and is an example of using local Community Preservation funds to leverage regional and statewide resources for contextually appropriate affordable housing.
