26 Units of Individual Supportive Housing in Salem
43 & 179 Boston Street, Salem, MA
Boston Street Crossing in Salem directly addresses a need for supportive housing for formerly homeless individuals as identified by the Mayor’s Regional Homelessness Task Force. This project is comprised of 43 Boston Street (12 Units) and 179 Boston Street (14 Units) for a total of 26 new units.
Boston Street Crossing will serve as permanent supportive housing. Harborlight is contracting with Lifebridge to provide case management and supportive services to all tenants, and tenants will be welcome to take advantage of the many programming opportunities provided such as classes, meals, and health care clinics.
The existing buildings at 43 and 179 Boston Street are being fully renovated to create studio apartments with private baths and kitchenettes. Laundry and common spaces will be available in the buildings. Boston Street Crossing is a non-smoking community.
This project is currently under construction, and will be complete in summer 2018.
Applicants must have documented income below 30% of area median income. All units are studios, and are sized for individuals only. There is a preference for homeless applicants, as well as applicants who currently reside or work in Salem, Beverly, or Peabody.
30% are median income for one person: $21,700
Units are close to public transportation and amenities. No pets or smoking.
