2016 Legislative Coffee

We thank all those who were able to attend HCP’s 2nd Annual Legislative Coffee held on February 25, 2016 at our Turtle Woods senior housing property in Beverly.  Legislative Coffee

We were honored by the presence of Senator Joan B. Lovely, Representatives Brad Hill, Jerry Parisella State Rep, Legislative Aides, Richard Curran from Senator Bruce Tarr’s office, Cameron Doherty from Rep. Parisella’s office, Sam Barrows from Rep Paul Tucker’s office.

We had a strong showing of local representation again this year of which we are also grateful: Beverly Mayor Mike Cahill, Planning Director, Aaron Clausen and Councilor’s Paul Guanci and Scott Houseman; Chris Ryder, Chief of Staff to Peabody Mayor Ed Bettencourt; Ed Hand and Ruth George of the Rockport CPC; and Sue Brown, Manchester Planner and Nancy Hammond, Manchester COA; and several service agencies, HCP board members and residents.

The morning discussion emphasized the importance of, and obstacles in, developing more affordable housing for seniors and families in our local communities, and ways in which Harborlight Community Partners can be a resource and a partner to help the region and individual cities and towns meet their housing goals.
